A poignant portrayal of the journey of three Kurdish women, from different generations and backgrounds, as they navigate their longing for a sense of belonging, home, and freedom while living in Berlin, weaving together their personal stories of struggle and identity.
Köy (Turkish for village) is about the longing for belonging, for home, for security and the freedom of the self. The film focuses on three women from three generations. They are united by their origins, all of them come from villages in eastern Turkey, Kurdistan. They are Kurdish and now live in Berlin. Every woman tells her story.
